Anthony Williams' Urban Nutcracker, the holiday dance classic with an inner city edge, features the BalletRox dance company and celebrates its 9th anniversary this December.
The Urban Nutcracker:
* Follows the story line of E.T.A. Hoffman's 19th century fairy tale set in contemporary Boston.
* Fuses ballet, swing, hip hop, and urban tap with the classical score of Tchaikovsky and the pulsating beat of Duke Ellington.
* Celebrates the rich diversity of Boston's urban communities and spotlights the talent of over 70 area children.
* Showcases an incredible array of set designs & costumes by Rebecca Cross.

Don't miss Boston's hippest Nutcracker, featuring Gianni Di Marco, a former dancer for Boston Ballet, in his debut as Drosselmeyer in a new and exciting characterization.

* An international cast including company and guest dancers from Russia and Ukraine.

* Traditional Chinese dance - "Ginseng Brisé" performed by the Angel Dance Troupe, students of Angel Performance Art, a Boston area based school focused on preserving and teaching Chinese culture, dance and art in America.
