The critically acclaimed, award winning Nigun Chamber Ensemble will present a concert “Evening of Russian and Jewish music” at the Newton Festival of the Arts in Newton Cultural Center at City Hall, 1000 Commonwealth Ave., on May 15th, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. The concert will mark 25th anniversary of The Nigun Chamber Ensemble.
A unique blend of Jewish folk songs in Yiddish and Hebrew and art songs and significant instrumenta pieces by great Russian and Jewish composers of I9th and 20th century, including P. Tchaikovsky, S. Rachmaninoff, R. Gliere, M. Warshawsky, L. Weiner, and others.
